Sharon Desmond

Sharon is the Group Manager of Caring for People and Planet at Mercy Health, and has previously worked in nursing, management and planning roles in public health services.

Sharon has Masters degrees in Business Administration and in Business Research Methods. Sharon commenced a PhD in the area of Environmental Sustainability in health service organisations, and has published models of care and service planning through a pro-environmental lens.

Sharon is a member of Melbourne University’s Sustainable and Planetary Health Action Network, the Melbourne Academic Centre for Health Community of Practice in Healthcare Sustainability Research, and Catholic Health Australia’s Laudato Si Working Group.

Outside of work, Sharon is involved in local climate action and community gardening.
